Responsibilities include preparing nanomaterial samples, characterizing the micro/nanostructure of materials to enhance their electrical and thermomechanical properties, designing and conducting carbon nanotube (CNT) and other nanocomposite materials laboratory experimental research, and testing.
Must be a full-time college student during the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years, while currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science or Advanced Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline.
Candidates interested in nanostructured composite materials and their potential use in advanced aerospace applications is a plus.
Academic background in nanotechnology with past practical experience in handling chemicals, operating laboratory equipment, generating and manipulating data and a working knowledge of organic chemistry and polymer synthesis and/or experience with modern thermal analytical and instrumental analysis techniques and electrical property measurements would be preferred.
